  1. Hello: This is your instructor, Stephen. I am from San Diego, CA. I founded the ETEC program (with the assistance of others) between 1994-97. I am just finishing my 19th year here at TAMUCC. I am a singe widower and live in Flour Bluff.

I have a BA in English, an M.A. in ed tech, and a Ph.D. in instructional systems. I attended the U of San Diego, San Diego State, and Florida State.

In addition to teaching, I also am a musician, writer, traveler, artist, photographer, and fledgling food prep guy (that is, I enjoy cooking when I have time). You can see a handful of my photos at my in-progress website at estebanphd.com if you like.

I encourage you all to do your best in this course. There are good job opportunities in instructional design. If you have questions or need to talk, just ask. I will be available throughout the term to meet with you online or in-person or to chat on the phone. Email works too.

I am looking forward to working with you and have planned what I hope you will find to be an interesting, worthwhile course.

    Thanks! SR

  2. Hello Dr. Rodriguez and ETEC Classmates: My name is Colleen McCue and I work as the Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator for the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute.
I have a degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University. Since graduating I have worked at a number of different environmental education facilities; including the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Nature’s Classroom, Whale Camp, and the Narragansett Bay (NERR). I have lived in several amazing places throughout my short career and I love now living in Port Aransas.
This is my fifth course in obtaining a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction with a specialty in Science. I’ve enjoyed being back in school while continuing to work full time. I'd love to use this degree to coordinate an environmental education program of my own. I would also like to create innovative tools for those who work as educators in my field as well as in the classroom.
I look forward to working with you!
    Colleen

  3. Good afternoon Dr. Rodriguez and fellow 5305 classmates! I am a site coordinator for the ACE program at Driscoll ISD. Before I took this position for this afterschool program, I had been teaching 2nd grade for the last 7 years and 5th grade one year before that. Our grant cycle ends this year so it could be time for me to go back in the classroom or a whole new door may open up for me in my career!

I will only have 2 more courses after this summer to finish my MA. If it all works out, I will be graduating in December!

I help out every other weekend at my father's business and am an independent consultant for Thirty-one. I also am planning my wedding on top of all this! I'm truly looking forward to working with you and gaining more knowledge in this ever changing field!
    Melissa

  4. Hi Classmates and Happy Summer II! My name is Erin Priour and I just graduated last spring with my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. I completed my Bachelor's degree in psychology at Baylor University. I am taking this course as a non-degree seeking student working towards licensing requirements.

I am currently working on my license as a psychological associate as well as my license as a specialist in school psychology. I just accepted a job with CCISD as an LSSP intern and am excited to begin this new chapter and put my Masters degree to work!

My background is case management and international aid work (with MHMR, Communities in Schools, and the Preemptive Love Coalition in Northern Iraq). I am married and we have a hilarious three year old son. I have only taken one other course in the education department, so I'm excited to learn more about this side of setting children up to be lifelong learners.

  5. Hi Dr Rodriquez and fellow ETEC 5305 classmates. My name is Jim Aschmutat and I work as a Systems Administrator for the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas. I graduated from TAMUCC Dec 11 with a BBA in Information Management. This will be my last class before graduation this semester with a MS in Educational Technology. I want to be able to start using my knowledge of both technology and instructional design to help our professors in their development of more online classes as well as working with our Educational Services. I am very interested in public education especially in providing digital content to public schools and our visiting public to our displays. One project that I am currently working on is building a digital classroom focused on incorporating flipped learning concepts. I can’t wait to get started and I am excited about working with all you.

  6. Hello Dr. Rodriguez and classmates.

I am Brian Ramirez, a current student in the Clinical Psychology program here at TAMUCC, I attained my BA of Psychology here as well in 2010. I am taking this course in order to complete the required coursework to attain an LSSP. I am originally from a small town called Angleton,TX, which is about 30 minutes south of Houston. I am genuinely interested in the field of study I have chosen, and when I graduate I hope to find a job as a school psychologist. 7. Howdy,

I'm Chantel Schulz. I am a student in the C&I PhD program. This is my final class to complete 18 hrs in the subject matter so that I have the option to teach this subject matter in the future. I am taking my last class and comps next semester and then it will be time to start writing my dissertation! Scary and exciting all at the same time! I am doing a fellowship right now that has a pretty heavy research component to it, so I think it will benefit me in the completion of my dissertation. Besides school, I am married and have a 14 month little girl named Jaxyn. I stay home with her and love it!! She is so much fun especially now that she is mobile and jabbering about everything.

My plans for the future are to teach online in some form or fashion. I have recently been learning about information and content marketing through blogging. This route allows you to create your own content/curriculum and be paid directly from your efforts or of course there is always teaching through an institution. Whatever happens, the future is wide open and I am so excited to see what's in store!!

I look forward to working with yall this summer session!

    ~~~Chantel Schulz:)
